GQ I am not

Apparently I'm blowing people's minds wearing an unlined jacket around the office two days in a row.  It's still in the 30's outside but if I wear an extra layer it's newsworthy.

C'mon people, it's an unlined cotton blazer, it's barely a step up from a shirt and tie.  Read a magazine once in a while.

Current beer-scale: 9.5 and can't wait for an interview next week.

A 45 degree day in January and I'm taking the train b/c I'm teaching until 10 PM.  Fuck.  Riding home at 10 in June, no problem.  In January, problem.

So I'm sitting in the office silently praying that someone from my interview last week contacts my references and I hear something soon.  B/c I was up all night with a sick toddler and I'm going batshit cray thinking about how long today is going to end up being.

Late nights make for a long week

So I survived a week with the wife out of town, only to have to stay late multiple times this week. Not fun, and making me wonder what possessed me to apply to grad school. But the moon sure did look amazing reflecting on the lak on the ride home tonite.

Current beer-scale: 7.2 and enjoying the apple pie moonshine quite a bit.

Might as well just switch to posting dog beach updates.

Yesterday was all about vaccination.  The baby hit 6 months and I had the day off to take him to his pediatrician's appointment.  So the dog got a beach trip before heading to the vet to get her shots too.

Unfortunately, even though I'd had the off day on the office calendar since the baby's two month appointment in June, a co-worker set a board meeting for last night from 6-8 PM.  With the Bears on MNF.  Good fucking times.  All I will say is thank god for the watch ESPN app and my ipad.

So the baby got to visit the office after his appointment while we waited for the wife to come by and take him home.  And I got to watch a football game while I was trapped at work.  I think that counts as enough of a day's work that I can save the vacation day too.
