Holy crap. I think someone roofied my flight. My head, it pounds.

headaches of a different color

Ugh. Five strong beers at Goose Island last night and I am not happy with the shape of my brain today.

Which is great, b/c I'm about to spend 7 hours driving to Saint Ignace tomorrow for a funeral. So I'm practicing sitting around feeling like crap so I'm used to it by the time I can come home Tuesday night.

But home might be different soon. We're closing in on getting a contract done on a condo we're crazy about. The thought alone of buying a place and getting ready to move is driving my stomach even crazier than trying to hold down an Italian sandwich today after all the beer last night. It's been a good news/bad news situation all weekend.

Looking for a little four loko to class up new years yesterday, I decided to pick up a little something for myself as well. As it turns out there was no loko to be had, but that was probably for the best. At this point it will be at least a day until I feel up to making a drink anyways. Ouch.

Woof.

Two pieces of advice for halloween survival:

One, if you're wearing a wig be sure to get as short a haircut as you're comfortable with the day before.
Two, keep said wig away from curious pets.

The rest is up to you. Here's to a fun night and renewing the job search.

woof.

Not at my best this morning, after starting at 11 AM yesterday with a liter of strong boch and not stopping until around 1 AM this morning with mad hatter IPA's. Mix in some wrigley old styles and a coconut mojito w/dinner and it was a fun night, not a great morning. Oh well. I had some steam to blow off.

driver, bring me another bourbon

Not just un-car-lite, but limo-heavy. Ah the joys of mixing drinks at 50 mph. And then drinking them. If only the photo were a little blurrier, b/c that's how it felt at the time.

It always strikes me as a little bittersweet the day after friends from all over the county have a chance to spend time together, only to scatter the following morning. True the newlyweds usually do anyway, but this time the wife was out to a conference and I'm on my own for a few days so I'm going to mope about it. I'm sure feeling slightly out of sorts after about 15 double jack & cokes isn't helping either.

I can't help but feel a little guilty about cramming 13 people into crazy-ghetto stretch limo and driving to different photo locals as I become more & more anti-car (actually, I feel guilty about a few things from yesterday. seriously, 15 jack & cokes? that's like a case of soda alone. no wonder I don't feel so hot). But hey, it wasn't my wedding and I was just along for the ride. It was fun, and I think I'm going to focus on that feeling over everything else.

**grunting inaudibly**

Whoever thought up the idea for an all-day bachelor party was either a genius or a masochist. Probabaly both. Yes if I any sense I would have made today a sick day but I don't so here I am typing away at work, where even the sound of keys clacking is making little sparks go off behind my eyes. At least I smell like a drowned rat after riding in the rain and having my bag spring a leak right over the clothes I brought to change into. Awesome.

I can't complain though, b/c I brought this on myself and had a tivo'd ND game to watch as I tried not to pass out too early. Even if it wasn't at a tailgate, any day I've got an excuse to be drinking out of a flask at 9 AM is a good one.

Good lord. You know it was worth it when the next day, you can't even listen to a beer ad without feeling nauseous. Korean karaoke joints shouldn't be mixed with jack daniels.

In the meantime, I'm more than happy to sit and watch the cubs while the wife and I recover. Slowly. Very slowly.
